The Orange Jeep IS BACK: How a Facebook Marketplace Find Made My Idaho Dream Complete
Three years. That's how long I waited.
A house fire had taken my beloved Orange Jeep, and I told myself I wouldn't replace it until I found exactly what I was looking for. No compromises. No settling.
The Wish List
After owning three Jeeps (four if you count the Cherokee, but we all know those don't count), I knew exactly what I needed to be happy:
- A serious lift kit
- Oversized tires to match
- A winch
- And above all else — it had to be orange
I'd had a CraigsList alert set up on my phone for years. Notifications came and went. None of them were right.
Then the Facebook Group Showed Up
A local southern Idaho Facebook Buy-Sell-Trade group I'd recently joined served up an ad I couldn't believe. A 1977 Jeep CJ7. Orange. Lifted. Oversized tires. Winch. New black leather front buckets and a matching rear bench. A strong eight-cylinder motor with a solid clutch. Four working KC lights. A monster spare tire carrier.
It had everything on my list and then some.
Stop what you're doing and understand what that means to someone who has been waiting three years.
What Idaho Gives You
This is one of the things I love about Cassia County and Magic Valley in general — the off-road culture is alive and well here. Jeep trails, lava rock terrain, canyon roads, wide open public land. This is the kind of place where an orange CJ7 belongs.
If you're the kind of person who buys Jeeps and wants land to actually use them on, southern Idaho delivers.
